Many spectators came down to the Town Square this beautiful Saturday’s afternoon and watch some of Oakville’s finest chefs to create dishes in a designated time using ingredients given to them only moments before the competition started.
I have captured Michael Spudowski, executive chef of Jonathan’s of Oakville and Executive Chef Lan Hoang of 3 S’s Restaurant in action.
The main judge was Massimo Capra – Celebrity Chef and Restaurateur who was leading the afternoon’s festivities for the public and offering his expert opinion to our local Chefs. The other two judges were Carrie Oliver and Andrew Dobson. The result was a great afternoon for all: Watching our local Chefs in action as they Mash-up their exceptional Downtown Oakville cuisine, or walking across the street to A Taste of Downtown’s Beer by Cameron’s Brewing Co. All of the food for the showcase was donated from a local Organic Farmer in support of local farmers and producers of 100 mile ingredients.
